There are six millions of children with congenital heart diseases awaiting to be cured with almost 1 and a half million of new cases every year. In addition, 5 millions of youth suffer from rheumatic fever and 1 million are also awaiting to be cured.
The mission of European Heart for Children is to promote knowledge and treatment of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and related disorders in children and young adults in ESC member countries and beyond.
European Heart for Children operates in deprived areas of the world by organising humanitarian missions, operating on children with CHD, training nurses and doctors and, where necessary, building dedicated units for paediatric cardiology.
European Heart for Children was founded by Claudia Florio in 2009 in Barcelona.
